Starring Felipe Salinas (formerly seen in Filloux’s Web Drama TURNING YOUR BODY INTO A COMPASS; the role of Octavio was written for Felipe to star in THIRD PERSON) Broadway World

Told entirely through letters, emails, dictated messages, THIRD PERSON centers on a passionate high school student, Octavio, his mother Diane, an English teacher, and poet, who teaches at the private school which Octavio attends, and Robert a CEO and parent at Octavio’s school. What begins as a personal inquiry becomes a profound reckoning with silence and accountability.

NEW PLAY MODEL

Filloux has conceived her three-character play to be easily produceable in a variety of places, from venues reaching underserved audiences to mainstream theaters. It can be produced for one performance or many and because it is epistolary the three characters read the story’s letters, and the actors require a minimal rehearsal process. The play’s use of a low budget and green resources focuses on the artists’ salaries and the venues’ basic needs: three microphones, lights up and down. The run time is short with no intermission.

(The premiere of THIRD PERSON will be in New York City at CultureHub. This new play model will be performed in places including Idaho, directed by Lane Richins; California, directed by Maya Flores.)
